Challenge
The DSSP began in one district in Gauteng in 2010, focusing initially on three high schools and six primary feeder schools. The aim is to provide services to improve learner performance. The focus shifted to district level to improve the capacity of district officials in supporting the schools.
Description
The program conducts customer satisfaction surveys and school principals surveys, develops qualitative reports by sitting with district leadership, and uses feedback and statistics on coaching sessions and school performance indicators to monitor progress.
Outcomes
The project has impacted 500 district officials, 875 schools, 25,000 teachers, and 80,000 students, enhancing the capacity of district officials to support schools and improving learner performance.
