Challenge
India, a nation of agriculturists, struggles with farmers lacking easy access to crucial agricultural information related to crop disease, suitable soil, medicine, pesticide, watering, and nutrients. This lack of information prevents farmers from cultivating suitable crops and treating their crops at the right time.
Description
Mobile AgriTech focuses on developing a mobile app with comprehensive crop information for each region of India. Farmers can post photos of diseased crops to get instant solutions, access a hotline for expert guidance, and receive time-sensitive information like weather forecasts. The app will be multilingual, first in Hindi and then in other major regional languages.
Outcomes
The project has successfully impacted 45,000 lives so far by providing farmers with timely and accurate agricultural information through mobile technology.
