Challenge

Access to appropriately structured capital to maximize impact and growth for impact entrepreneurs in the United States

Description

The fund will invest in early stage companies that have gone through Village Capital's world class investment readiness program. Our cohort-based programs build trusted peer communities, while also equipping entrepreneurs to refine their growth strategies and design capital strategies that are aligned with their business models. The fund will leverage the insights and capacity-building efforts from these programs.

Additionally, the fund will leverage a range of investment structures that consider the startup's growth path, exit opportunity, and impact objectives. Instead of relying solely on venture capital structures that are not always the best way to maximize performance and impact, we will also use innovative structures (demand dividends, redeemable equity, etc.) that allow founders to pursue business-model appropriate growth, maximize impact, and retain more ownership.
