Challenge

Uganda faces challenges in the quality of science education, with low numbers of teachers interested and confident in teaching science, coupled with insufficient integration of ICT in teaching.

Description

USEP trains science teachers in learner-centered methods and ICT integration, supported by a participatory monitoring system involving school heads and department leaders. An academic score card helps in tracking and improving the quality of science education.

An 18.1% increase in the number of science teachers interested/enthusiastic about teaching science, and a 9.8% increase in teachers' confidence in using ICT in class.
