Challenge

According to the e-Conomy Africa 2020 report, the ratio of men to women in the African technology industry is 80 to 20, with the underrepresentation of women having far reaching effects on Africa's poverty rate. According to the 2018 report of the World Economic Forum, empowering women to participate equally in the global economy could add $28 trillion in GDP growth by 2025. Ultimately, we seek to aid the rise of economically empowered African women through successful digital careers.

Description

The Women Techsters initiative is focused on bridging the gender gap between men and women in the technology space. By 2030, the initiative seeks to enable 5,000,000 women across Africa with digital and tech skills that will equip them to drive social and innovative change within their communities by providing access to decent jobs (full-time jobs and remote jobs within the gig economy), and entrepreneurship opportunities.
