Challenge
Israelis and Palestinians are isolated from one another, preventing opportunities for reconciliation and creating opportunities for suspicion and fear to grow.
Young people in the region struggle to find meaningful employment and to realize their dreams. This adds to the frustration and tension caused by the ongoing conflict.
Women, especially those from marginalized communities, have especially unequal access to the high-tech sector.
Description
We provide economic opportunities through technology and entrepreneurship training and networking opportunities. Our seminars target marginalized populations and women. We use technology training and additional community events as a tool to foster empathy and build a community of peacebuilders that will work throughout their lives towards a more peaceful future. We aim for participants to create joint companies or initiatives, or work from their positions in society towards peace.
Outcomes
Hosted three seminars since founding, reaching 90 diverse participants. Expanding to hold three seminars per year, and partnering with MIT MISTI to bring the program to South Africa and refugees in Germany.
