OverviewContributors

Challenge

The Syrian conflict has led to severe human rights violations and humanitarian crises. Traditional media and official channels often lack real-time and comprehensive data on these developments.

Description

Syria Tracker uses crowdsourced text, photo, and video reports to form a live map of the situation, supplemented by data mining and machine learning techniques to scan the web for reports. It helps in early detection, situation awareness, and response, improving the efficiency of humanitarian efforts.
