The Chenab Development Foundation is providing access to non-formal lower secondary education for out-of-school girls living in remote rural areas of Punjab through 15 Rural Girls Education Centres, where focus is placed on an extensive teacher training process and an SMS-based feedback mechanism is used to engage parents and the community.

Challenge

Out-of-school girls in remote rural areas of Punjab lack access to lower secondary education.

Description

The project establishes Rural Girls Education Centres, conducts an extensive teacher training process, and uses an SMS-based feedback mechanism to engage parents and the community. An SMS based monitoring system ensures punctuality and consistency of teachers and gathers feedback from stakeholders. Monthly and quarterly progress reports are generated based on student evaluations, education coordinator visits, and visits from higher management.
