Challenge
High dropout rates among girls and women, leading to lower educational attainment and limited employment opportunities.
Description
The program uses a combination of monitoring systems like SMS for tracking daily attendance and a Management Information System (MIS) to track and analyze student performance. The MIS helps monitor different aspects of student information and performance in internal assessments and final board exams. The program also includes a tracking database to follow students' progress even after they've taken the board examination.
Outcomes
The program has grown from 400 students to nearly 4,000 students in four years, significantly increasing the pass percentage of girls. From a 51% pass rate in 2012-13 to 72% in 2013-14, the program has shown consistent improvement. The program's expansion to 31 centers across 7 states in India marks its scaling success.
