Description

The Smart Diagnostic Platform for Malaria (SDPM) is an all-in-one, portable diagnostic tool consisting of an automatic staining chip and optical diagnostic reader. It identifies Plasmodium infected red blood cells through machine-learning algorithms, automates steps of traditional Giemsa staining, and provides comprehensive diagnostic data.

Successful development of a portable malaria diagnostic platform with 95% sensitivity and 95% specificity. Completion of clinical trials pending ethical approval in Cambodia and Malawi. Plans for national distribution in both countries post trials.
