Challenge
The current education system in Egypt is unable to serve the growing population. In 2015, 2.6 million children entered the schooling system, which can only accommodate 1.8 million. This has resulted in overcrowded classrooms, shortened academic days, and high dropout rates. The issue is exacerbated by unmotivated and underpaid teachers and a high illiteracy rate, leading to billions spent annually on private tutoring.
