MoHiM - No Shame in the Period Game

MoHiM is a game about periods. It educates, engages, and empowers people around the world to break the menstrual stigma. The game prototype has been developed for iPhones and iPads and is now in the transition to scale phase, working with Femme International to reach 3,500 girls in urban slums around Nairobi, Kenya.

Nearly 80% of girls in urban slums around Nairobi, Kenya had no idea what menstruation was before they got their first period, revealing a significant gap in health education.

Description

MoHiM raises menstrual health awareness through a fun myth-busting game, designed for low-end android phones to reach low-income households without the need for internet access. The game aims to break down menstrual taboos, empower girls, and provide effective knowledge dissemination.

Outcomes

The game was launched successfully and received international media coverage. Collaborations with Femme International aim to reach 3,500 girls directly and up to 10,500 indirectly, improving menstrual health awareness and reducing stigma.
