Learn English Audio Pilot in Nigeria (LEAPIN)

Nigeria

Learn English Audio Pilot in Nigeria (LEAPIN) is working towards bridging the digital divide in Africa by utilizing an audio unit that is powered by kinetic and renewable energy to help English teachers and learners in the classroom. LEAPIN is currently using a framework designed by the Open University in support of ESSPIN with the specific objectives of supporting teachers with a reliable means of playing suitable audio content and reducing teacher-centered activities, while measuring changes in English usage. The pilot is currently in the evaluation phase; data is being collected and collated from teachers, students, and head-teachers through classroom observation, interviews, and questionnaires.
