Challenge

The organization addresses the need for care and education among vulnerable children in Surkhet, Nepal. These children often come from low caste backgrounds, are orphans, have limited schooling options, and lack support systems.

Description

Kopila Valley provides a home for more than 40 children and educational services for more than 300. It monitors students' progress using a combination of Nepali and American test standards and has developed a set of longitudinal tests in English and mathematics for continuous monitoring. High-performing students have demonstrated excellence in district-level exams.
