Challenge
There is a wide disparity in the quality of education in small towns and villages as compared to metropolitans. Studies show very poor learning levels in school children going to public schools across India. A grade 8 child in a public school is barely at a level of a 5th grader. Almost all the solutions in the market are aimed at private school children.
Description
iScuela addresses the problem of low learning levels with an ecosystem that aids teachers for in-class teaching and provides a platform for self-learning for children. The system runs on existing school hardware and low-cost Android phones. It helps teachers enrich in-class learning and promotes self-learning among students.
Outcomes
We are working with the state government and Rotary India Literacy Mission to install solutions in over 19,000 government schools, impacting over 4 million children and 100,000 teachers.
