Challenge
Indonesia's healthcare system is rated as one of the poorest among Asian countries. Over 28 million people (11% of the population) live below the poverty line of $17 a month, and about half the population have incomes below $60 a month. Although basic health services exist in all districts, equity and affordability of healthcare remains a constraint. According to the Department of Health, 40% of people still resort to traditional healers.
