Challenge
Access and provision of primary education in the focused tehsils in Pakistan (Rajanpur and Rojhan) was limited. There was a need to enhance public awareness and hold government representatives accountable for educational budgetary provisions.
Description
The project included conducting forums with Ilm Committees at the Union Council level, involving elected representatives. It also involved forming Ilm (Education) committees, conducting program introduction sessions, and ongoing monitoring and evaluation based on a custom M&E framework developed by FDO.
Outcomes
- 13 Forums conducted with the involvement of MPAs and MNAs candidates
- Commitment from candidates to address education demands
- 102 program introduction sessions conducted in 23 Union Councils
- Formation of 23 Ilm (Education) Committees
- Enhanced public awareness about the right to education
