From plant breeder selection among more than 1000 lines and participatory testing of 14 progenies in 2014-15 in Mali, one line named Sambola has been released to farmers and registered in the West African regional seed catalogue in 2016.

Low yield of locally adapted cultivars, both under low and high input production.

Description

The grain yield of this line was over 50% higher than the recurrent parent Lata in high and low input conditions, offering substantially greater productivity.
