OverviewContributors

Challenge

While textbooks are helpful, they constitute a majority of education materials in our schools. In resource-deprived areas, an over-reliance on scant teaching and learning materials like textbooks severely restricts students and teachers development. The pedagogy often emphasizes passing exams, making learning abstract and time-bound for students. Also, available learning content on traditional media does not encourage student involvement.

Description

To transform curriculum delivery across the continent by creating content that brings engagement and excitement to the classroom, while addressing some of the common challenges teachers and students face. The GH4STEM JUNEOS CHALLENGE creates high-quality, modern, locally-relevant, supplementary learning and teaching materials which integrate young people into their local communities as problem-solvers and active builders. It encourages a demonstrable acquisition of skills and lifelong learning.
