Challenge
Schools where children from low-income families study, many of whom work as laborers in brick factories. We are reusing old (working condition) desktop computers that are unused in homes/offices to make a positive impact on society.
Description
The project aims to achieve zero-cost investment while impacting many lives. Friends are donating computers (new and used) to set up computer labs for students and teachers. This involves reusing old, working-condition computers from homes or offices to create a positive societal impact.
Outcomes
The pilot project was very successful and effective, and plans are underway to establish at least 20 digital E-libraries across Nepal by 2020. The project has also led to digital access for poor people, a better education system for students and teachers, recycling of old electronics devices, and youth mobilization.
