Hylo

Humanity is facing a “metacrisis”, which we believe at its core is a failure of coordination, to steward our shared planet in healthy ways. Current social platforms used for coordination are profit-driven leading to many negative outcomes for society.

Hylo is an open source, non-profit prosocial coordination platform that helps purpose-driven groups build capacity to achieve their goals, by providing customizable tools for collaboration, mutual support, relationship-building, and growing prosocial cultures. Hylo’s web and mobile apps allow community members to deepen relationships and collaborate on projects through discussions, requests, offers, resources, events, geographic maps, member directories, and direct messaging. All of this is provided on a free platform that does not use advertising, data-extraction, or dopamine-spiking interaction patterns.

Hylo supports over 80 active groups and around 2500 monthly active users. These groups choose Hylo as their community home due to values alignment and unique features for collaborative groups and multi-stakeholder networks that support their organizational needs.
