Chipatala Cha Pa Foni (CCPF) - Health Center By Phone

Malawi

CCPF is an mHealth innovation that increases knowledge and use of home- and facility-based maternal, newborn and child health (MNCH) services in Malawi. It connects women and children to health workers, giving them access to regular, vital health information, tailored advice, and targeted referrals to facilities as needed. The initiative also alleviates pressure on the Malawian health system by facilitating increased home-based care.

Challenge

Malawi has one of the highest rates of maternal, child, and infant mortality globally. This project addresses the lack of access to timely and appropriate maternal, neonatal, and child health information, advice, and care, particularly in underserved communities.

Description

CCPF harnesses mobile technology to extend healthcare reach, providing a toll-free hotline for reproductive, maternal, and child health issues, and a tips and reminders mobile messaging service with tailored health messages. The innovative platform ensures efficient healthcare delivery while reducing unnecessary health facility visits.
