OverviewContributors

Challenge

The members of the Bridge network specifically focus their work on supporting learners and schools in disadvantaged communities. This includes individuals with disabilities, displaced individuals, ethnic minorities, linguistic minorities, racial minorities, religious minorities, nomadic communities, out-of-school children, and orphans and vulnerable children in Cape Town and Johannesburg.

Description

Bridge measures attendance and engagement at its community meetings, and evaluates new collaborations or partnerships that developed out of each community's work. The organization also uses social media and website analytics to measure impact.

Outcomes

When Bridge was founded in In July 2010, the organization had four communities of practice in Cape Town. As of April 2013, then Bridge has developed ten new communities in both Johannesburg and Cape Town. Collaborators now include over 3000 members from at least 650 organizations.
