Our solution aims at reducing hunger, Malnutrition and food borne diseases to world Population in an healthy environment. Biofit feeds is Africa pioneer in production of clean healthy foods. Our product 'Aquaprotein', a clean protein produced from invasive water hyacinth plant. The water hyacinth has covered over 200,000 ha in Lake Victoria, causing problems such as; reducing fish population in the lake, hindering fishing and transportation and contaminating the lake waters.
Description
Our product is unique; first it is cheap; with our technology we are still able to reduce the cost below the market prices and make huge profits. Secondly, the protein is a clean protein food produced with no fertilizer, chemical synthetic boosters/sprays and has zero food borne diseases. Aquaprotein is high quality rich in nutrients. Lastly, our technology does not produce emissions to the environment; no mechanization involved and does not compete human food (no human animal food conflict).
Outcomes
Biofit harvested over 100 tons of fresh water hyacinth processed and sold to customers. Impacted lives of over 2500 communities displaced by water hyacinth.
