Challenge

Over 4 billion people lack access to safe, sustainable water services. There is a clear need for new channels and mechanisms at scale to ensure water quality and sustainability.

Description

1001fontaines enables rural communities to produce their own safe drinking water through social micro-enterprises. Small water kiosks are set up and managed by local entrepreneurs trained by in-country partners. Water is locally produced using low-cost technology, sold at affordable prices, and provided free to school children.
