Description
1001fontaines enables rural communities to produce their own safe drinking water through social micro-enterprises. Small water kiosks are set up and managed by local entrepreneurs trained by in-country partners. Water is locally produced using low-cost technology, sold at affordable prices, and provided free to school children.
Outcomes
800,000+ beneficiaries including 280,000 children; financial sustainability with a target of reaching 1 million beneficiaries by 2020 in Cambodia; supported by renowned figures and organizations with $500,000 prize from USAID DIV.
